This is what happens when Trump and his followers attempt a coup. Those followers include about 145 traitors in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate who voted to overturn the legitimate results of a presidential election. They declared that their loyalty is not to the Constitution, but to Donald Trump. The traitors include Minnesota Reps. Michelle Fischbach and Jim Hagedorn. Fischbach has only been in office for one week, and she’s already permanently disgraced herself.

The traitors shamefully did this even though there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud. None of the states found any fraud, nor did election cybersecurity director Chris Krebs nor did Trump’s former suck-up Attorney General Bill Barr, but hey, why let facts stand in the way of attempts to destroy our system of free elections, will of the American people, and our democracy?
They did this even though the election is over and the results have been certified. They did this after the courts, often with judges appointed by Donald Trump, threw out about 60 baseless challenges to the election results.
Perhaps the Congressional traitors can’t help it. They suffer from the moronavirus. They need to social distance from crazy conspiracy theories. They also need a vaccine that prevents them from violating their oaths to support and defend the Constitution. Fortunately, a vaccine is on the way under a program called, “Operation Warped Minds.”
Good to see North Dakota Republican Sens. John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer and Rep. Kelly Armstrong all opposed the coup attempt, and recognized Congress has no authority to overturn electoral votes sent in by the states. However, all three continue to be part of the problem by still falsely claiming there were election irregularities. In light of the violence we saw on Jan. 6, Hoeven, Cramer and Armstrong need to lower the temperature in the room and admit that Joe Biden was elected fair and square.
Also, Cramer’s comments about Trump’s appalling call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger are alarming. In that call, Trump tried to bully and threaten Raffensperger into criminally falsifying the results of the election. Cramer told CNBC, “I didn’t get a sense he was pressuring anybody.” Cramer should have condemned Trump’s ugly call. Instead, his dangerous comment fuels the flames of this madness.
Thanks to Trump, the unpatriotic rioters who blindly follow him, and the traitors in Congress, our democracy has been under siege. Trump must concede now or the 25th Amendment should be invoked to remove him from office. Still, Joe Biden will be inaugurated on Jan. 20. That day can’t come soon enough.
