I used to tease my (accountant) husband about his devotion to supermarket loyalty cards and money-off coupons. But as costs keep soaring and our belts remain firmly tightened, I am now eating humble pie — purchased with my new Nectar card.
M&S Sparks memberships are on the rise and almost 21 million UK households have a Tesco Clubcard, used in over 80 per cent of the supermarket’s sales. At the school gates, myWaitrose discounts and Clubcard prices are discussed as enthusiastically as Aldi’s organic prosecco supplies for Christmas.
