Twenty-nine states have already joined the coalition on the creation of a special tribunal for Russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said this following a meeting with his Dutch and Estonian counterparts in Lviv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Our meeting was focused primarily on the creation of a special tribunal on Russia’s accountability for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. This process started last year, we are gradually moving towards the establishment of such a tribunal. The role of the Netherlands and Estonia in this process is very important,” Kuleba said.
According to him, on January 26, the first meeting of the coalition on the creation of a special tribunal was held, with 21 states taking part in it. Now their number grew to 29, including one Latin America country.
Kuleba noted that the second meeting on the creation of a special tribunal would be held on March 21-22 in Strasbourg.
The minister also thanked the Netherlands for the decision to set up the International Center for the Investigation of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine in The Hague.
At the meeting, the officials also discussed steps to accelerate the supply of artillery ammunition and other weapons to Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, in Lviv on March 3, Presidents of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Republic of Latvia Egils Levits discussed the priority needs of Ukrainian defense, the creation of an international tribunal, and European integration issues.
