As the art world turns and world events overwhelm, we thought we’d remind all of our readers that life-enhancing unique pieces can now be bought online in the charity "Cure3" sale in aid of the Cure Parkinson’s Trust charity. The bright idea behind the venture—each artist has been invited to create a unique work using a bespoke Perspex box measuring 20x20 cm3—has been fine-tuned since the project launch in 2017. This year, artists such as Hurvin Anderson, Oliver Beer, Bouke de Vries, Do Ho Suh and Chantal Joffe have taken on the Cure3 challenge. Prices start at £650, increasing to £65,000 for Frank Bowling’s eye-catching cubed piece called My Cup Runneth Over. “The abstract expressionistic style of the paint contrasts starkly with the ready-made teapot and teacup inside the cube [with] their connotations of the small rituals of daily life,” a project statement says. Sales will raise funds and awareness for curative Parkinson’s research—so please cast your eye over the delectable Perspex pieces and dig deep to help find a cure for this degenerative condition. At the time of writing, bespoke squared works by Rana Begum (£4,000), Rebecca Salter (£3,250) and Thomas J. Price (£5,000) were still available. Bowling’s exquisite sculptural piece is also up for grabs. Please note—to date Cure3 has cumulatively raised more than £1m (hats off, we say).
