The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to sign a memorandum of understanding with Switzerland regarding the Ukrainian-Swiss project "Creation of a budgetary lung ventilator in response to the challenges of Covid-19". The corresponding draft memorandum was approved at a government meeting on December 2, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said.
Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, was authorized to sign the document.
It is noted that the signing of this memorandum will create a legal basis for ensuring its further implementation.
According to the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Vasyl Mokan, the conclusion and practical implementation of the memorandum will create a legal basis for attracting a grant from the Swiss government in the amount of up to 1.5 million Swiss francs.
As we reported earlier, the government of Denmark provided Ukraine with 50 lung ventilators for the treatment of critically ill patient.
On November 10, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held a virtual meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Jeppe Kofod. The ministers discussed the interaction of the countries in the counteraction Covid-19 pandemic. Dmytro Kuleba expressed deep gratitude to the government of Denmark for provision to Ukraine of 50 lung ventilators for the treatment of critically ill patients.
“Ukraine is grateful for this sign of true friendship and support from Denmark,” he noted.
