(Ecofin Agency) - Hamadoun Touré (pictured), the Malian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, announced the creation of the National Digital Council. The announcement was made during the hearing he granted, on November 7, 2020, to members of the Association of Computer Societies of Mali (ASIM).
According to the minister, it is necessary to capitalize on the experiences of public and private sectors to achieve this common objective and give Mali a new breath in the digital segment.
He went on to explain that "after 30 days of observing all the systems, it is now time for me to inject a new dynamic that will include trying to get the best out of everyone, to take the good ideas and see how we can accelerate the development of ICT in Mali."
In addition to this desire to combine public and private expertise, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy also unveiled his ambition to rank Mali among the top ten on the continent in terms of ICT development.
