Can you 'name a woman'? TikTok challenge tests a boyfriend's loyalty— and they're failing left and right - New York Post

Forget the Roman Empire. Men seem to have one woman on the brain, and, spoiler, it’s not their girlfriend.

The hilarious challenge to “name a woman” has swept TikTok feeds everywhere — #nameawoman has scored over 119 million views on the app — with women demanding that their partners say the first female name that comes to mind.

But while most appear to be fully expecting boyfriends to call out theirs as a testament to their love, many of those tested are failing, rattling off instead prominent historical figures such as Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman and Anne Frank, not to mention A-list beauties like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Anne Hathaway.

“I need you to do me a favor and name a woman,” one TikToker, who goes only by Cate, requested of her partner in a viral video, garnering 17 million views.

After multiple asks to name “any woman,” Cate’s partner blurts out: “Susan B. Anthony!”

Creator Bailey Lister asked the same question of her beau, who, without missing a beat, replied, “Harriet Tubman.”

“Why was he so prepared for that… and why was his follow up statment [sic] ‘shes just been on my mind lately,'” a baffled Lister wrote in the video’s caption.

When Toronto-based Sydney Wingold, 27, filmed herself asking her boyfriend the say a woman’s name, he responded, “Anne Hathaway.”

In a clip posted by TikToker Katie Olivero, her roommate’s boyfriend named former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, while creator Mari Ebert’s husband said Anne Frank.

The trend is reminiscent of a viral Billy Eichner bit from his show “Billy on the Street,” in which he demanded a panicked stranger “name a woman,” but she couldn’t answer.

Women flocked to the comments of the viral TikTok videos to share their partner’s answers and laugh at how absurd they are.

“Mine said little Debbie…. LITTLE DEBBIE,” one person wrote under Cate’s clip.

“Lol my bf panicked and said Cher,” shared another.

“My husband said Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” someone else chimed in.

“Mine said Hillary Clinton,” revealed one person. “We’re from Ireland.”

“Mine said Martha Stewart. He passed,” admitted someone else.

“Mine said Margo Robbie,” a TikToker wrote. “Now we are divorced.”
