To the editor:
Indiana is full of quaint little towns. These little towns, regardless of flow of traffic, have flourished since the time of their founding. Unfortunately, corporate greed and corruption is wanting to interfere with these peaceful cities. The only people that will have any real benefit from the construction of the Mid-States Corridor are people in charge of large-scale businesses.
Let's not forget about all the farmland that will be destroyed and lost in the making of this ridiculous road. This land is people's livelihood; people make their money off that land. How would you feel if you got a major income cut just because the government wanted to help the big guys instead of the little guys? The worst part is these"big guys" are just selfish businessmen trying to make a few more dollars. It's no surprise to the rest of us, but if these businessmen win and get the government to build the Mid-States Corridor, hundreds of homes and businesses would be in the path of construction and those homes and businesses would be in the path of construction and those homes and businesses would be demolished. Homes where people have lived for years. Many of these homesteads are older than my grandparents.
If our small towns and average families don't need the construction of this road, then neither do the "big guys." Fight the creation of the Mid-States Corridor; don't let corporate greed and competition win.
