Cites Intrepid Studios Growth As A Reason

Intrepid Studios, developer of upcoming MMO Ashes of Creation, announced today via a blog post that they will be self-publishing their MMO globally, parting ways with current EU publisher MY.GAMES.

In a blog post, Intrepid Studios Founder and Creative Director Steven Sharif explained the reasoning behind the move, stating that the partnership was first entered to provide the "best customer and operational support for our European Players."

The logistics and operational components surrounding EU/CIS publishing is complex and a significant responsibility. At the time, it made the most sense to partner with an established publisher for these regions. As we have grown as a company and have expanded our capabilities it made sense to reevaluate our strategies and ultimately expand the responsibilities of Intrepid Studios to become a global publisher, leading that initiative with bringing excellent service for our playerbase and community management that focuses on respecting our fans.

Steven goes on to state that they have learned a good deal from their partnership with MY.GAMES, though the teams have decided to "mutally part ways." Intrepid Studios is opening European offices in Amsterdam in order to fill the role of publishing in the EU/CIS regions.

For players who currently have a MY.GAMES account and are wondering how this will affect their accounts in the future, the team listed a FAQ on the Ashes of Creation blog post to help those, as well as cites their Support team as able to help any player inquiries.

While the transition is currently underway, Scharif also promises more information on the migration process in the "coming weeks." Recently, the team also took a sneak peek at some of its crafted leather armor, took the community's thoughts on breadcrumbs, as well as posted some job listings for their San Diego office.
