FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) - Class was in session Saturday for a podcast creation boot camp at "Come As You Are Community Church."
Kibwe Cooper is the host and creator of the "Empower You" podcast, which has aired more than 70 episodes. He's been an audio-video engineer for nearly a decade.
Cooper taught the class, which was filled with people who are looking to launch their own podcasts.
"There is nothing else like this going on," Cooper said. "There's some smaller classes, but nothing like what we have with the Podcast Creation Boot Camp."
Cooper taught the group everything from the process of putting together an episode, to what type of microphone is needed for good audio.
"When we tell ourselves our voices don't matter, when we tell ourselves that there are things that don't qualify us, but what Kibwe has helped us realize is that these stories matter," student Lydia Tremaine said.
Tremaine plans on launching a podcast next week.
Cooper hopes that Saturday's lesson is one that helps his class for a better future.
"I want them to know that it is possible for them to help their ideal listener, their ideal person and that their testimony and life is valid," Cooper said.
Cooper hopes to lead more boot camps soon.
