Meta Quest and SteamVR headset owners will soon have another way to make music in virtual reality. Music creation sandbox Virtuoso will arrive on both platforms on March 10.
According to publisher Fast Travel Games, Virtuoso is designed for everyone, no matter their level of musical experience. A tutorial that will show you the ropes, and there are six instruments to get to grips with, including a customizable drum kit and a 3D "Oorgan." Players can add vocals to their creations as well.
Using a Looper tool, you can create songs without anyone else's help. Features like preset scales and Tempo Sync should help you stick to the beat and stay in tune. There’s also MIDI controller support via a Windows companion app.
Creations can be saved and shared with others. If you share your work in the Community Library, other Virtuoso users will be able to add their own touches to your tracks, including remixing them.
Virtuoso, which was developed by Really Interactive, might be worth checking out if you've ever fancied creating your own music and have a compatible VR headset. You might even be able to put together songs faster than you’d learn to play a traditional musical instrument. Virtuoso has a great name too, since it plays off both musical skill and the VR aspect.
